Two-day Grazing School
with Jim Gerrish

Jim’s experience includes over 20 years of beef-forage systems research and outreach while on the faculty of the University of Missouri, as well as 20 years of commercial cattle and sheep production on their family farm in northern Missouri.
Jim’s grazing school includes both classroom and hands-on learning starting with an introduction to grass farming and management intensive grazing. On the second day, participants will learn how to inventory and allocate pasture, and will conduct exercises in the field to put their knowledge to practical use. Fencing and watering systems will also be discussed.
The school is planned for Sept. 22 and 23 at Steve Normanton’s farm in Litchfield, NH. The tuition of $300 includes the school, materials, and food during the school (lunch, snacks, and supper on Saturday; lunch and snacks on Sunday. The food will be locally sourced and all meats will be pasture-raised!
Steve’s farm is close to lodging and easily accessible to from major highways, and is about six miles from Manchester-Boston Regional Airport.
