2019 GRAZING CONFERENCE
Could grazing be the answer?
• to $15 milk?
• to low beef prices?
• to slack demand for hay?
Saturday, Feb. 16
McLane Audubon Center, Concord, NH
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Join us for Granite State Graziers winter grazing conference, the state's premier educational event for pasture-based farmers, offering workshops, networking, and inspiration.
Kathy Voth, founder and publisher of On Pasture, a website featuring weekly articles about grazing, soil health, and animal management, is this year’s keynote speaker. In addition to her work with On Pasture, Kathy is also known for her method of using livestock to change pasture plant communities, or as she likes to say, teaching cows to eat weeds.
Kathy Soder, animal scientist with the USDA-ARS-Pasture Systems and Watershed Management Research Unit, will talk with us about her latest research project, in which she is working with grass-fed dairies to develop management and supplementation strategies that complement grazing preferences of dairy cattle to optimize the utilization of mixed-species cool-season pastures of the Northeast U.S.
